From Shaman to Saved

A Disturbing Trance

Entering into a deep trance, Shaman Tae attempted to heal the sick woman, but instead she watched as the woman’s soul headed into a fire.
“Don’t follow the woman’s soul into that place of torment,” a man standing near the fire told her. “You must follow a different road.”
And then the trance was over and the woman already dead. But Tae couldn’t shake the man’s words.

A Different Road

Years passed. Over the mountains, other Wana villages heard of a different road to follow, but not Tae. She still remembered the words of the man. She still didn’t want to end up in the fire like that woman. But she still didn’t know of a different road to follow.
Now an elderly grandma, Tae moved to a new village, and five days later a helicopter flew in with none other than Wana tribal missionaries. They shared the Good News message about a God who offered eternal life, a God who was more powerful than all the spirits they worshipped and feared, and a God who sacrificed His only Son so that people just like Tae didn’t have to go to the lake of fire.
Tae soaked in the teaching. It finally made sense to her. Here was the different road she was to follow. God had provided a different road. Tae confessed her sins and put her faith in God. And today she is a great testimony for Jesus to others in the Wana area.

Ripple Effect

Without the Wana missionaries, Tae may never have heard the gospel message. And without missionaries like Steve and Linda Rosengren and Ed and Jeanne Casteel, there may never have been Wana believers who could become missionaries.
Pray for the Wana church as they continue to send out missionaries.
